This thing is not coming off!
Heather's car got a flat tire while she and I were in Rose Park looking at a house for rent, which is a sketchy area in downtown Salt Lake. I know it is sad, but it was our first time changing a flat time and we are both in out late twenties... better late than never I guess. We jacked the car up and removed the screws from the tire but for some reason the tire was not budging. A few men from the house next door came over and tried to loosed it by kicking it, pulling it, pushing on it, but it was not moving. Finally one of the men went over to his house and came back with a sledge hammer. He got down behind the tire and gave it one good beating with the sledge hammer and it came right off. It was just so old and hadn't been changed in a long time that it had rusted to to the car. Luckily they were there to help us, but I was a little disappointed too because they just sort of took over with the tire and didn't let us even put on the spare after we got the old tire off. I wanted to have the full experience of removing and putting on the tire. We are women who don't mind getting our hands dirty... it was actually really fun and have now learned how to deal with a flat tire. Chalk that up for another needed experience!
