Saturday the first workout they did was:
21-15-9
Overhead squats
Push-ups
All on a paddle board
Paddle around the island, come back to shore and do the following on the beach:
21-15-9
Keddle bell swings
Burpees and jump over the bar
Swim 400 meters
Holy cow they looked tired coming out of the water at the end of the swim! They did two heats of this workout and in the second heat they asked for members of the crowd who wanted to participate. I SO wanted to participate, but i didn't have any of my workout clothes on me and I was in jeans. Dang it! That would have been a blast! One of the guys who participated fell onto his paddle board, almost into the water, twice during the overhead squats/push-up portion of the workout. It was sad, but kind of funny. This guy also crawled out of the water onto the shore at the end of the swim and yelled "time!" when he touched the shore, even though that wasnt the finish line. it was hilarious.
We had a great time. It was inspirational for me. I really think it would be awesome to compete in crossfit! I'm thinking more about it.
This is Elizabeth Ekinwale. She is my new found crossfit inspiration! I wouldn't mind having arms like that! Her snatches were amazing too. Her max snatch is 197 lbs. That is a TON of weigh to hoist up over your head!
It was so beautiful in Big Sky. The event was at the ski resort so we were surrounded by gorgeous mountains and tall trees. It was so beautiful!
This is Dan Bailey. He is super short 5'7" but he is built. We got a picture with him and talked to him for a little bit after this workout. He was really nice.
Apparently the water was freezing. So cold that is was super hard to breathe during the swim.
We totally got a free hoodie and t-shirt too! This was an awesome unexpected bonus!
